Ethics is always a huge deal in civil engineering. While it's not everyone's favorite part on exams it is crucial in your own life and career. The entire ethics section could be summed up in one word - integrity. If you have integrity you're going to try to do the right thing in every circumstance.
My brother Mark and I recently sat down and had a discussion about the code of ethics as found on the America Society of Civil Engineers website, ASCE.org. There are ethics codes found at ASCE, NSPE, exam bodies, college bodies, your workplace, and more, but as a whole most will cite the ASCE as the go to source for engineering ethics.
Check out our video below and let me know your own thoughts about ethics in the comments. Do you have any examples? We'd love to hear about them!
